The 2012 Super Bowl will stream online and to mobile devices. Considering the Super Bowl is one of the highest watched television programs all year, this was definitely not a decision made lightly by the NFL and NBC. Specific details about the streaming (such as cost/if it will work on non-Verizon devices etc) are still fuzzy. This move could mean more viewers for the NFL, which translates to more advertising opportunities. While I am not sure the global availability, I see this as a huge opportunity to reach people who may not be able to get the games on their local channels abroad. Believe it or not, there are a lot of American football fans all over the world, and a streaming video service of the Super Bowl (even if there is a charge for subscription) would be awesome for them.
